How scoring works
Each word is looked up in a curated subset of the Brysbaert et al. (2014) concreteness norms — 37,058 English lemmas rated 1.0 (most abstract) to 5.0 (most concrete) by crowd-sourced human raters. Words not in the lookup are shown in neutral gray and excluded from statistics.
Color interpolates linearly from terracotta (score 5) through neutral ochre (score 3) to cerulean (score 1). Hover any colored word to see its exact score.
